Dr. Nestor F. de la Cruz-Muñoz, M.D. is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (General Surgery). He is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. He currently holds positions in the Speaker’s Bureaus for the United States Surgical Corporation and for Ethicon Endosurgery. He has received numerous awards throughout his career and has given many presentations in the field of bariatric and general surgery. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. de la Cruz-Muñoz earned his medical doctorate at University of Miami School of Medicine in 1994 after graduating with a B.S. in Biology from Duke University. His post-graduate training included a residency in general surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he was chief resident in his final year.
